A Kansas City, Kan., resident came forward today to claim a $200,000 Powerball cash prize he won in the Jan. 30 drawing, according to Kansas Lottery officials.
The winner, who did not want to reveal his identity, matched four of the first five numbers and the Powerball to win $50,000. Since his $3 Quick Pick ticket included Power Play, and the Power Play number for that drawing was four, he won four times the amount for a total of $200,000, lottery officials said.
The winning numbers in the Jan. 30 Powerball drawing are 05-12-16-31-43 Powerball 18. The winner’s winning numbers were 05-16-29-31-43 Powerball 18.
The winning ticket was purchased at Hen House 27, at 8120 Parallel Parkway, in Kansas City, Kan. For selling the $200,000 winning ticket, the store is eligible for a $1,000 selling bonus.
Also today at the Kansas Lottery, a Fort Riley soldier came forward today to claim a $1 million Mega Millions cash prize he won in the Jan. 29 drawing, which also happened to be his birthday. The Geary County resident, who wished to remain anonymous, matched the first five Mega Millions numbers, but not the Megaball on a $1 Quick Pick ticket to win the large cash prize.
