A Kansas City, Kan., resident was injured in a fire at 10:11 p.m. Wednesday at 2921 N. 31st ST.
According to a spokesman for the Kansas City, Kan., Fire Department, a resident was taken to the hospital in stable but critical condition.
Crews arriving at the fire, within 4 minutes of the call, reported heavy smoke and fire coming from the single-story wood-framed residential building, according to the spokesman. Fire was showing from the front window.
The fire was extinguished within 30 minutes, the spokesman stated. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The building was valued at about $35,000, and the estimated fire loss is $40,000 to the building and contents, according to the spokesman.
