KCK Public Library buildings closed until April 6

All Kansas City, Kansas, Public Library locations will close until April 6 because of COVID-19, according to an announcement on Wednesday.

According to the announcement, all current checkout due dates will be extended until April 6 without fines.

Digital items, such as e-books and movies, will still be available online at www.kckpl.org, a spokesman said. All in-person activities have been canceled.

The local school buildings also have been shut down, and plan to offer some online class work.

The library will continue its online resources for students, including an online tutor service, according to the spokesman.

The Bonner Springs City Library, which is not in the KCKPL system, also is closed. It closed Tuesday , March 17, and will be closed through March 31, with activities canceled because of COVID-19.
