KCK pool, spray park openings delayed

A Kansas City, Kan., swimming pool at Parkwood Pool, 950 Quindaro, and spray parks will delay opening because of the cool temperatures, according to a Unified Government spokesman.

Temperatures were 68 degrees at 3 p.m. Friday, May 22, according to the National Weather Service.

A UG spokesman said Parkwood Pool will delay reopening until the temperature reaches 72 degrees.

Spray parks at Heathwood Park, 10th and Parallel Parkway; Eisenhower Park, 2901 N. 72nd St.; and Pierson Park, 1800 S. 55th, will not be open for the Memorial Day holiday weekend, according to the spokesman.

When the weather improves, the spray parks will be reopened to the public, the spokesman said.
