A Kansas City, Kansas, police officer was shot and a suspect is dead following a a shooting incident about 11:11 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, in the 400 block of North 18th Street.
The officer who was shot has a non-life-threatening injury, according to police.
According to a Kansas City, Kansas, police spokesman, officers went to an apartment after an indecent exposure call.
During a struggle, the suspect took an officer’s weapon and fired a shot before being shot by the second officer, the spokesman stated.
The suspect died at the scene, and the officers were taken to a hospital for treatment, the spokesman stated.
The shooting is under investigation by the police department’s Criminal Investigations Division, which is asking anyone with information to call the TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
