KCK police officer charged

The Kansas City, Kan., Police Department said on Thursday that criminal charges have been filed against a police officer.

Officer Colleen Radford of the Kansas City, Kan., Police Department has been charged with distribution of a firearm to a felon and with child endangerment, according to a news release from the police department.

The charges followed a lengthy investigation by the KCK Police Department, after the Bonner Springs Police Department requested assistance in regard to a criminal investigation in its city, the spokesman said.

Radford has been placed on unpaid leave pending the outcome of the criminal case, according to the police spokesman.

The Kansas City, Kan., Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division is investigating the case.
