A Kansas City, Kan., police officer was dragged by a vehicle around 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, near 67th and State Avenue, according to a police spokesman.
The officer is OK and has minor injuries, the police spokesman said.
The police spokesman said the officer was responding to a single-car accident at 67th and State. The driver of the involved vehicle had an outstanding warrant and the officer attempted to take the driver into custody, the spokesman said.
The driver backed up his vehicle, trapping the officer in the driver door and dragged him into the roadway, the spokesman said.
Initially the suspect fled, but he was later taken into custody in Kansas City, Mo., the police spokesman said.
The Kansas City, Kan., Police Department’s Traffic Support Unit-Critical Collision Response Team is investigating.
