KCK man injured in I-70 collision with semi

The driver of a Chevrolet Cobalt was injured after a collision with a semi at 11:50 p.m. April 12 on I-70 westbound near the 18th Street Expressway in Kansas City, Kan.

The Cobalt was westbound and a semi was in the lane next to it when the Cobalt made an abrupt lane change, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report.

The semi struck the Cobalt, then the Cobalt skidded to the right shoulder and struck the barrier wall, according to the report.

The driver of the Cobalt, a 37-year-old Kansas City, Kan., man, was taken to the hospital, the report stated.

The driver of the semi, a 59-year-old Kansas City, Mo., man, was not injured, the report stated.
