A Kansas City, Kansas, man, Dionta Washington, 29, faces several federal drug and gun charges, according to the U.S. attorney’s office.
Washington was charged in a superseding indictment with five counts of distributing marijuana; one count of distributing methamphetamine; two counts of possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking; two counts of using a telephone in furtherance of drug trafficking; and one count of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, according to the U.S. attorney’s office.
The incidents were alleged to have occurred in 2019 and 2020 in Johnson County, Kansas.
If convicted of all counts, he could face more than 30 years in prison and more than $1.7 million in fines, according to the U.S. attorney’s office.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives investigated. Assistant U.S. Attorney Sheri Catania is prosecuting.
The prosecution by the Kansas City Metro Strike Force was part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces operation.
