KCK man dies in vehicle accident in Basehor

A Kansas City, Kansas, man died in a two-vehicle accident on Thursday morning, July 8, in Basehor, Kansas.

Marvin Giron-Ardon, 48, Kansas City, Kansas, died in the accident, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s crash log.

Giron-Ardon was in a Chevrolet Tracker that was eastbound on U.S. 24, and attempted a left turn on 174th, according to the trooper’s report. The Tracker was struck in the rear by a GMC Sierra truck that went off the roadway, the report stated.

The accident happened about 7:29 a.m. July 8.

The driver of the Sierra was a 27-year-old man from Leavenworth, Kansas, who had a possible injury, according to the trooper’s report.

A passenger in Giron-Ardon’s vehicle, a 40-year-old Kansas City, Kansas, man, had a minor injury and was taken to a hospital in Kansas City, Kansas, according to the trooper’s report.
