Kansas Speedway postpones May races

Kansas Speedway has postponed the May 30-31 race weekend in Kansas City, Kansas, after a scheduling announcement by NASCAR.

According to a news release, the races originally planned May 30-31 will be held at a later date, to be determined.

A spokesman stated in the news release that they will work with NASCAR officials, while monitoring the COVID-19 epidemic through updates from local and federal government officials and health officials.

“First, I’d like to thank our fans for sticking with us during this time with so much being unknown for the past couple of months,” Kansas Speedway President Patrick Warren said in the news release. “NASCAR is working extremely hard on a schedule for the remainder of the year and I look forward to seeing cars back on track very soon.”

Kansas Speedway’s website stated that fans who have already purchased tickets could receive tickets for a later date at Kansas Speedway or at certain other NASCAR tracks. Those who purchased tickets also could receive a refund, according to the website.
