The eastbound and westbound K-32 bridge at I-70 has fully reopened to traffic, according to the Kansas Department of Transportation.
The bridge, located in Leavenworth County, was closed about 10 months for construction of a new replacement bridge, a spokesman said.
Project work began in January to replace the existing 310-foot steel girder bridge, with a 28-foot wide roadway, on K-32 over I-70 with a 325-foot welded plate girder bridge, with a 47-foot wide roadway.
In mid-February, the bridge was closed to all traffic and the detour route was put in place, the spokesman said.
The contractor, Emery Sapp and Sons, working with the Kansas Turnpike Authority staff, completed the project.
