Juvenile returned unharmed after being in backseat of stolen auto

A kidnapping and stolen auto was reported at 11:37 a.m. Saturday, May 14, in the 1300 block of North 78th Street, according to a Kansas City, Kansas, police spokesman.

Officers responded to the stolen auto report and discovered that when the vehicle was taken, a juvenile was still in the backseat, the spokesman stated.

The vehicle and suspect information was broadcast city-wide at 11:39 a.m.

At 11:49 a.m., officers spotted the vehicle and began a pursuit that went into Missouri and returned to Kansas, according to the spokesman.

At 12:13 p.m., the vehicle was safely stopped at College Parkway and State Avenue, the spokesman stated.

The juvenile was returned unharmed to the family, and the suspect was taken into custody, according to the spokesman.
