Jury returns not guilty verdicts in O’Donnell case

A jury on Monday returned not guilty verdicts on 21 counts of wire fraud in the trial of Michael O’Donnell, a Sedgwick County commissioner.

The jury was hung on two counts of wire fraud and three counts of money laundering, according to the U.S. attorney’s office.

U.S. Attorney Stephen McAllister said his office is evaluating the results of the trial to determine whether to take the case to trial again on the five counts in which the jury did not reach a verdict. Wichita is in Sedgwick County.
