Two persons were injured in a crash at 10 a.m. Dec. 18 on westbound I-70, west of I-635, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report.
A Chevy Impala hit a patch of ice on the highway, causing it to slide into the back of a semi, then off the roadway, striking a Honda Accord on the right shoulder, the trooper’s report stated.
The driver of the Impala, a 59-year-old Kansas City, Kan., man, was injured and taken to the hospital, the report stated.
A passenger in the Impala, a 40-year-old Kansas City, Kan., woman, also was injured and taken to a hospital, according to the report.
The driver of the semi, a 57-year-old man from Jasper, Minn., was not injured, the report stated.
The driver of the Accord, a 59-year-old man from Overbrook, Kan., also was not injured, the report stated. He was not in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
A passenger in the Accord, a 64-year-old woman from Overbrook, Kan., had a possible injury, the trooper’s report stated.
