Injury crash reported on I-70 in KCK

An injury crash was reported at 5:13 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, just west of the 18th Street Expressway exit on I-70.

According to a Kansas Turnpike Authority trooper’s report, three vehicles were in the left lane on westbound I-70 and a Ford F-150 pickup truck was in the middle lane.

A Ford Escape in the left lane struck an unknown vehicle in the rear, the trooper’s report stated. The unknown vehicle left the scene of the crash, the report stated.

Then a Chevrolet Trailblazer struck the rear of the Ford Escape, the report said.

Then the Ford F-150 truck struck the Ford Escape, according to the trooper’s report.

A passenger in the Ford Escape, a 19-year-old woman from Dunkirk, N.Y., was injured and taken to the hospital, according to the report.

The driver of the Ford Escape, a 21-year-old woman from Dunkirk, N.Y., was not injured, the report stated.

The driver of the Trailblazer, a 31-year-old man from Bonner Springs, Kan., was not injured, the report stated.

The driver of the Ford F-150, a 56-year-old man from Kansas City, Kan., also was not injured, according to the report.
