An injury-accident was reported at 11:23 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, on eastbound I-70 near I-435, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report.
A Chevrolet Suburban was eastbound on I-70 when for unknown reasons, it lost control, left the roadway to the south, collided into the guardrail and overturned, the trooper’s report stated.
Debris from the Suburban flew into the roadway and struck a HINO commercial truck, according to the trooper’s report.
The driver of the Suburban, a 79-year-old man from Kansas City, Kansas, had a serious injury and was taken to a hospital, the report stated.
The driver of the truck, a 40-year-old man from Kansas City, Missouri, had no apparent injury, the report stated.
