An injury-accident was reported at 10:22 p.m. June 8 on westbound I-70, east of the Park Drive exit, according to the Kansas Turnpike Authority.
A Chevrolet Equinox was westbound on I-70 when the driver looked down, drifted onto the inside shoulder, and sideswiped a Ford F-150 truck that was parked on the shoulder of the road, according to the trooper’s report.
The Equinox then struck the bridge rail two times before coming to rest, the trooper’s report stated.
The driver of the Equinox, a 62-year-old Kansas City, Kansas, man, was injured and taken to a hospital, according to the report.
