An injury-accident was reported at 2:37 a.m. Thursday, June 2, on southbound I-435 just south of I-70, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report.
A Lexus was southbound on I-435 when the driver was unable to avoid a crashed semi in the roadway, according to the trooper’s report. The Lexus struck the semi’s trailer, the report stated.
The driver of the Lexus, a 22-year-old man from Wichita, Kansas, was taken to the hospital with a possible serious injury, according to the report.
A 55-year-old Kansas City, Kansas man who was a passenger in the Lexus had a possible serious injury and was taken to the hospital, the report stated.
The driver of the Kenworth semi tractor-trailer, a 60-year-old man from Independence, Missouri, had no apparent injury, according to the report.
