A person was in critical condition following an accident about 10:32 p.m. Saturday near 59th and Leavenworth Road in Kansas City, Kansas.
According to a police spokesman, a vehicle ran a red light on Leavenworth Road, then struck another vehicle traveling north on 59th.
The driver who ran the red light fled on foot, but was found and arrested a short time later, the spokesman stated.
A passenger in the second vehicle was taken to the hospital in critical condition, according to the spokesman.
