A driver was taken to the hospital after an accident at U.S. 73 and Leavenworth Road about 10:14 a.m. Feb. 3.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report, a Jeep Grand Cherokee was northbound on U.S. 73, along with an International truck. The truck was slowing down to yield to an emergency vehicle, the trooper’s report stated.
The driver of the Grand Cherokee rear-ended the truck, according to the trooper’s report.
The 19-year-old Lansing, Kan., man driving the Grand Cherokee was taken to a hospital in Kansas City, Kan.
The driver of the truck, a 54-year-old man from Lees Summit, Mo., was not injured, according to the report. A passenger in the truck, a 65-year-old man from Centerview, Mo., was injured, the report stated.
