An injury-accident was reported near northbound 18th Street Expressway, just north of Merriam Lane in Kansas City, Kansas, at 5:13 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 5, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report.
A Ford Fusion and a Honda Accord were northbound on 18th Street Expressway, when they changed lanes to avoid slowing traffic, the trooper’s report stated. Traffic then slowed to a stop and the Fusion struck the left rear corner of the Accord, according to the trooper’s report.
Both vehicles drove off the right side of the roadway into the ditch, the trooper’s report stated. The Accord then struck a group of trees in the ditch with its front bumper, according to the report.
The driver of the Accord, a 34-year-old Kansas City, Kansas, woman, had a possible injury and was taken to a hospital, the report stated.
The driver of the Fusion, a 33-year-old Merriam, Kansas, man, was not injured, according to the report.
