Some members of a family are in the hospital today after an accident on southbound I-435 just south of I-70 in Wyandotte County.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report, the accident happened at 1:15 p.m. Oct. 7.
The trooper’s report stated a 2014 Buick Enclave slowed in traffic to make a U-turn and was rear-ended by a Ford F-250.
The driver of the Buick, a 24-year-old Leoti, Kan., woman, was not injured, according to the report.
A 53-year-old Leoti, Kan., woman passenger was injured and taken to a hospital in Kansas City, Mo., the report stated.
A 5-year-old Leoti, Kan., girl also was injured and taken to another hospital in Kansas City, Mo., according to the report.
The driver of the pickup truck, a 31-year-old man from Greenwood, Mo., was not injured, the report stated.
