An injury-accident was reported at 6:37 p.m. Oct. 18 on U.S. 24 eastbound at 142nd Street in Wyandotte County, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.
A 2012 Ford Focus was southbound on 142nd Street when it failed to stop, and struck a Toyota Avalon, according to the trooper’s report. The Avalon was eastbound on U.S. 24, according to the report.
The Focus came to rest in the roadway, while the 2001 Avalon went into the ditch, the report stated.
The driver of the Focus, a 19-year-old woman from Oregon, Mo., was injured and taken to a hospital, according to the report.
The driver of the Avalon, a 38-year-old man from Kansas City, Kan., was injured and taken to a hospital, the report stated. A 4-year-old girl and an 11-year-old girl in the Avalon also were injured and taken to the hospital, according to the report.
