Injuries were reported at 2:35 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, on I-635 northbound near Metropolitan Avenue.
All vehicles were northbound on I-635 when there was a collision between a Honda Accord and a GMC pickup truck, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report.
The truck lost control and struck a four-door Acura, according to the report. Then all three vehicles went off the right side of the highway and struck the guard rail, the trooper’s report stated.
The GMC pickup truck went over the guard rail and came to rest upside down in a drainage ditch, the report stated.
The driver of the Honda Accord, a 21-year-old woman from Kansas City, Kan., had a possible injury, according to the trooper’s report.
The driver of the pickup truck, a 68-year-old man from Drexel, Mo., was injured and taken to a hospital, the report stated.
The driver of the Acura, a 53-year-old man from Kansas City, Kan., also was injured and taken to the hospital. A 37-year-old woman passenger in the Acura, from Lawrence, Kan., was not injured, the report stated.
