The Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services will solicit community opinions about the privatization of Osawatomie State Hospital in meetings throughout the state.
A meeting is scheduled from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, at the West Wyandotte Public Library, 1737 N. 82nd St., Kansas City, Kansas.
The first meeting was held last week in Wichita. Other meetings are from 1 to 3 p.m. Aug. 29 at the Four County Mental Health Center, 3751 W. Main, in Independence, Kansas; and 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 30 at the Capitol Visitors Center auditorium, Kansas State Capitol, 8th Avenue between Harrison and Van Buren, in Topeka, Kansas.
KDADS is expected to make a presentation explaining the bid proposal, and an architectural model and drawings of the new facility are expected to be on display.
Only one response was received, from Correct Care, to a request for proposals issued last year.
The meetings are open to the public.
