Crews will temporarily close the northbound I-635 off ramp, Horizons Parkway and Argosy Casino Parkway for the delivery of massive girders.
These girders are 6.5 feet tall and up to 168 feet long. They were fabricated in Kansas City, Kan., and will be shipped via tractor-trailer.
Crews will travel eastbound on I-70 and will end on I-635. Arrival time is approximately 9:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 24. All work is weather-dependent.
These girders will be the first to be set for the new U.S. 69 Highway Bridge over the Missouri River. The new structure will include multiple lanes and bike-pedestrian access. It will be open to traffic in December 2016.
