House overrides governor’s veto of tax bill

The Kansas House overrode Gov. Sam Brownback’s veto of a tax bill today.

The vote was 85-40.

The bill next could go to the Senate for an override vote.

The bill would end an income tax cut and LLC business cut by the governor. The state was facing a budget hole approaching a billion dollars in the next few years, and the bill is expected to bring in more than a billion in the next few years.
