The victim of a homicide at 9:52 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, on Central Avenue has been identified, according to a Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department spokesman.
The victim was Steven Peoples, 49, a resident of Kansas City, Kansas, according to the spokesman.
A person of interest is currently in custody, according to the spokesman.
Police officers responded to a dispatched shots fired call in the 1100 block of Central Avenue on Sunday morning, according to the spokesman. They located a deceased male with an apparent gunshot wound, the spokesman stated.
The homicide is under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Bureau of the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department. Anyone with information is asked to call the TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
