Homicide suspect apprehended in Phoenix

A homicide suspect has been apprehended in Phoenix, Ariz., according to a Kansas City, Kan., police spokesman.

Tyrone Hamilton, 24, was apprehended on Monday, Jan. 23, in Phoenix, Ariz., in connection with a homicide investigation, the spokesman said.

A warrant had been issued for his arrest in connection with the Dec. 24 shooting death of a man inside a residence in the 2000 block of North 56th Terrace, the spokesman stated.

The spokesman said it is unknown when Hamilton will be extradited to Wyandotte County.

The case is under investigation by the Kansas City, Kan., Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division. Anyone with information is asked to call the TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
