A teenage male died in an overnight homicide in the 4000 block of Barber Court, according to a spokesman for the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.
Detectives with the police department are investigating the city’s 15th homicide of 2021.
Officers were dispatched at 1:20 a.m. Saturday, June 19, on a shooting call, the spokesman stated. The location was a few blocks east of I-635, and south of Metropolitan Avenue.
When they arrived, officers found a male in his late teens outside a residence, the victim of an apparent shooting, according to the spokesman. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
No arrests have been made, the spokesman stated.
The Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department’s Major Case Unit is investigating. Anyone with information on this case is asked to call the TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS, the spokesman stated.
