A homicide in the 2100 block of West 42nd is under investigation, according to a Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department spokesman.
Officers responded at 3:42 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 10, to the 2100 blcok of West 42nd Street, on a report of a shooting, the spokesman stated.
They found evidence of a crime but were unable to locate the victim.
At about 7 a.m., officers were contacted by detectives with the Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department, advising them that a shooting victim had presented himself at a local hospital, according to the spokesman.
That victim later died from his injuries, the spokesman stated.
Detectives later were able to confirm that the individual was the shooting victim from the West 42nd Street call, according to the spokesman. It was the 38th homicide of the year in Kansas City, Kansas.
