A wind advisory will be in effect from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Friday, according to the National Weather Service, and there is a slightly elevated fire danger across the area this afternoon.
Warm temperatures and southwest winds gusting to 36 mph this afternoon have resulted in the slightly elevated fire danger, the weather service said. The relative humidity will drop only into the 40s and is higher, but caution should still be used with outdoor burning, according to the weather service. Outdoor burning is highly discouraged today, the weather service said.
Besides caution with any burning, the weather service recommends motorists to be careful, as winds today may make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles.
Today’s forecast is mostly sunny with a high near 60, the weather service said. It will be breezy with a south southwest wind of 16 to 24 mph, gusting as high as 36 mph.
Tonight, it will be mostly cloudy, then gradually clearing, with a low of 31, according to the weather service. A west wind of 6 to 14 mph may gust as high as 24 mph.
Saturday, the high will be near 53 with sunny skies and a west wind of 5 to 9 mph, the weather service said.
Saturday night, the low will be around 28 with partly cloudy skies, and a west wind of 5 mph will become calm in the evening, according to the weather service.
Sunday, the high will be near 43 with partly sunny skies, the weather service said. A light and variable wind will become north 5 to 8 mph in the morning.
Sunday night, the low will be around 19 with mostly clear skies, according to the weather service.
