Heat advisory goes into effect at noon

A heat advisory will go into effect at noon today, and remain through 8 p.m. Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

The heat index today may climb as high as 100, with the temperature at 95, the weather service said. The heat index will be high through the next few days. Residents are advised to drink plenty of fluids, check on relatives and stay out of the heat, inside air-conditioned rooms.

Today will be sunny with a south wind of 10 to 16 mph, gusting as high as 24 mph, the weather service said.

Tonight, the low will be around 76 with a south wind of 9 to 14 mph, gusting as high as 20 mph, according to the weather service.

Saturday, it will be sunny with a high near 95, and a heat index as high as 100, the weather service said. A south wind of 10 to 14 mph will gust as high as 23 mph.

Saturday night, it will be mostly clear with a low of 76 and a south wind of 9 to 13 mph, gusting as high as 21 mph, according to the weather service.

Sunday, skies will be sunny with a high near 94 and a south wind of 9 to 13 mph, gusting as high as 22 mph, the weather service said.

Monday, the high will be near 92 with mostly sunny skies, the weather service said.

Monday night, there is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a low of 72, according to the weather service.

Tuesday, there is a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1 p.m., with a high of 85, the weather service said.

Tuesday night, the low will be around 68, with a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, according to the weather service.

Wednesday, there is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a high near 83, the weather service said.
