Halloween events planned

Trunk-or-treat planned Oct. 30
A Halloween trunk-or-treat and a fire-juggling performance are planned from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, at the South Branch Library, 3104 Strong Ave., Kansas City, Kansas. Jason D’Vaude will present the fire-juggling performance.

Safe Halloween event planned Oct. 31
A safe Halloween event is planned from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, at the Eisenhower Center, 2901 N. 72nd St., Kansas City, Kansas. Alcott to hold Halloween event
The Alcott Arts Center, 180 S. 18th St., is preparing for its annual Halloween event at the Alcott from 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 31. The theme this year is the “Wizard of Oz.” The Alcott parking lot on Oct. 31 will be decorated with scenes from the “Wizard of Oz.” Visitors will walk through the gates and follow a yellow brick road. Artist Darryl Woods will be there and will have posters for children to select. Also, Sheryl Nance-Durst will volunteer her time to do face-painting. The Unified Government’s lead paint program will hand out information about the lead paint program. Children will receive a bag of candy at the event. Sponsors, partners and donors are needed for the Halloween program. Candy may be donated, and money will be accepted for the event’s expenses. Volunteers are also needed.
