Pea-sized hail and a thunderstorm were reported in Wyandotte County about 6:50 p.m. Friday.
According to the National Weather Service, at 6:45 p.m., radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Edgerton, moving northeast at 45 mph.
This storm was headed for Bonner Springs, Edwardsville and Kansas City, Kansas.
Half-inch hail and wind gusts up to 50 mph were reported with this storm earlier, according to the weather service.
A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued until 7:30 p.m. for southern Wyandotte County, according to the weather service.
A warning also was issued for central Wyandotte County until 7:30 p.m.
Residents should move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building, away from windows.
