Grand reopening for RSI to be today

A grand reopening is scheduled today for a new location for the RSI Crisis Stabilization Resource at 1301 N. 47th St., Kansas City, Kansas.

The first free-standing crisis stabilization center in Kansas, RSI is moving from its current location on West 36th Avenue near the University of Kansas Hospital, to 47th Street, between State Avenue and Parallel Parkway.

The grand reopening and open house is scheduled at 3:30 p.m. and will include agency officials and government dignitaries. Expected to make remarks are Randy Callstrom, president and CEO of Wyandot Inc., Sharon Sawyer, executive director, RSI; Lt. Gov. Jeff Colyer; Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services Secretary Tim Keck; and Tim DeWeese, director of Johnson County Mental Health Center.

The RSI crisis stabilization center serves individuals experiencing mental health and substance abuse crises. It serves Wyandotte and Johnson counties and diverts individuals from more costly treatment services such as emergency rooms.
