Grand marshals of Saturday’s NASCAR race to be former KC Chiefs players

The grand marshals of the NASCAR Digital Ally 400 race on Saturday will be former Kansas City Chiefs players.

Former Chiefs standouts Neil Smith and Christian Okoye will say “drivers, start your engines,” and former Chiefs player Mark Collins will wave the green flag.

Smith played for the Chiefs from 1988 to 1996, and was in two Super Bowls with Denver.

Okoye played for the Chiefs from1987 to 1992 and was known for powerful running style and ability to break tackles. He was in the Pro Bowl twice.


Collins, drafted by the New York Giants in 1986, played for the Chiefs from 1994 to 1996, the Green Bay Packers in 1997 and the Seattle Seahawks in 1998. The defensive back won two Super Bowls with the Giants.
