Gold Star Families Memorial dedicated in Olathe

The Gold Star Families Memorial was dedicated on Friday at Olathe Veteran’s Memorial Park. Gov. Laura Kelly read a proclamation at the unveiling declaring Sept 27 as Gold Star Mother’s and Family Day in Kansas. Gold Star families have lost a loved one in military service. The Olathe monument, made possible by the “Woody” Williams Foundation, is the first Gold Star Families Memorial monument in the state of Kansas. The Olathe Memorial Park is at 1005 S. Harrison.
