Gardening program to be July 1

“Gardening for Birds with Native Plants,” an online program, will be presented at 11:30 a.m. July 1 online through the K-State Research and Extension Wyandotte County Master Gardeners.

The program will be by Jennifer Delisle, board of directors, Jayhawk Audubon Society.

The program will discuss using native plants in landscapes, growing bird-friendly plants to attract birds while making spaces beautiful, easy to care for and better for the environment.

The program is designed to help people have a positive effect on planting for birds where they live. The program will focus on the food preferences of backyard birds in northeast Kansas and the native plants that supply that food.
