Funeral arrangements were announced today for two slain Wyandotte County sheriff’s deputies.
A candlelight vigil will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday in front of Kansas City, Kansas, City Hall, 701 N. 7th St.
A visitation for Deputy Theresa King, who was killed in a shooting near the courthouse Friday, will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, at the Reardon Civic Center, 500 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, Kansas. This visitation is for Deputy King only.
Deputy Patrick Rohrer, who also was killed on Friday near the courthouse, will not have a public visitation.
Parking for the public on Wednesday will be in a lot across from the Reardon Center, on the south side of Minnesota Avenue.
The media will not be allowed inside the Reardon Center for the visitation, according to a Kansas City, Kansas, police spokesman, but they may be outside the building.
A combined funeral service for both deputies will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday, June 21, at Children’s Mercy Park, where Sporting KC plays. The complex is near The Legends, near I-435 and I-70. Parking will be at the nearby Kansas Speedway.
