At this year’s Kansas City Fringe Festival, there was a show called “Check Mate,” directed and written by David Hanson.
Hanson, an assistant administrator for the Kansas City, Kansas, Public Libraries, wrote the immersive and cinematic play. The plot involves a scientist’s inventions with alternative realities. A tension develops between the scientist and an industrialist in this play.
Hanson is backed by a team of actors in the melodramatic interactive play.
By far this is one of the best plays I have seen in a long time. It is truly an experience to behold – a play where the audience gets involved.
Hanson developed this play, which was a unique experience. The show is at the Arts Tech, 1522 Holmes St., Kansas City, Mo.
