No widespread severe weather is expected.
Storm chances will drop off by the latter half of the weekend, according to the weather service.
Temperatures will run near or above normal for mid-September, with warm and humid conditions expected Monday, the weather service said.
Today, there is an 80 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before noon, according to the weather service. The high will be near 79 with a south wind of 7 to 9 mph. Between a half and three-quarters of an inch of rain is possible.
Tonight, there is a 40 percent chance of storms and rain, with a low of 63, according to the weather service. The wind will be south southwest 3 to 6 mph.
Saturday, expect mostly sunny skies with a high near 80, and a north northwest wind of 3 to 5 mph, according to the weather service.
Saturday night will be partly cloudy with a low of 61, the weather service said.
Sunday, expect sunny skies with a high near 82, and a south wind of 3 to 7 mph, according to the weather service.
