Free turkeys, free flu shots, free hoodies to be given away Saturday

Hoodies will be given to the first 200 people who attend the “Boo to the Flu” event Saturday, Oct. 30, at Mercy and Truth, 721 N. 31st St. There will also be flu shots and turkeys, along with chili fixings.
Food boxes will be available to the first 200 people who attend the Mercy and Truth “Boo to the Flu” event on Saturday, Oct. 30, at 7405 Quivira Road, Shawnee, Kansas. There will also be flu shots, hoodies and turkeys, along with chili fixings.

Mercy and Truth Medical Missions will hold “Boo to the Flu” on Saturday, Oct. 30, in Kansas City, Kansas, and Shawnee, Kansas.

Each location offers 200 free flu shots,200 free turkeys, 200 free hoodies and 200 free bags of chili fixings, just in time for Monday Night Football.

The Shawnee event will also give away 200 food boxes, sponsored by Church of the Resurrection. The giveaways are all contactless.

“Boo to the Flu” runs from 9 a.m. to noon (or while supplies last) at the KCK location and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. (or while supplies last) in Shawnee.

The KCK location is the Mercy and Truth clinic at 721 N. 31st St. The Shawnee location is 7405 Quivira Road in the Westbrooke Shopping Center parking lot.

Anyone can participate, regardless of residence or legal status. Spanish translations will be available.
