There were two possible injuries in a four-vehicle accident at 5:23 p.m. Saturday, July 25, on I-435 northbound, just south of State Avenue.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report, three vehicles were braking for backed-up traffic when a fourth vehicle hit the back of another vehicle, starting a chain reaction.
The vehicle that had slowed but was not able to stop in time was a 2014 Chrysler driven by a 50-year-old man from Erie, Ill., according to the trooper’s report. He was not injured. A 16-year-old male in the vehicle also was not injured.
The Chrysler ran into the back of a Honda Civic, according to the report. The Civic was driven by a 28-year-old woman from Olathe, Kan. She had a possible injury.
The third vehicle was a Volkswagen driven by a 32-year-old Kansas City, Mo., man, according to the report. A 32-year-old woman passenger had a possible injury, the report stated.
The fourth vehicle, a Chrysler Town and Country, was driven by a 38-year-old Shawnee, Kan., man, the report stated. He was not injured. A passenger in the Chrysler, a 37-year-old woman, also was not injured, according to the report.
