A 2012 Nissan Sentra and a 1998 Mercedes were slowing for traffic on eastbound I-670 west of Genessee at 5:15 p.m. Jan. 27 when a 2012 Chevy hit the rear of both cars, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report.
The Sentra and Mercedes were in different eastbound lanes when the accident happened, the report stated.
Four persons in the Mercedes were taken to a hospital with possible injuries, according to the report. They were the driver, a 21-year-old Kansas City, Kan., woman; a passenger, a 24-year-old Kansas City, Mo., man; a 3-year-old Kansas City, Mo., girl; and a 4-month-old Kansas City, Mo., boy.
The driver of the Chevy, a 30-year-old man from Belton, Mo., was not injured, according to the report.
The Sentra’s driver, a 35-year-old Kansas City, Kan., man, also was not injured, the report stated.
