The Kansas Highway Patrol reported four accidents in Wyandotte County on Saturday, as snow made area highways slick.
I-635 near K-5
One crash was at 6:20 a.m. March 11 on I-635 northbound, just north of K-5 in Kansas City, Kansas, according to a trooper’s report.
A BMW was stopped when a Jeep came around the corner. The driver of the Jeep was unable to top in tine, struck the BMW, and rolled, according to the trooper’s report.
The driver of the Jeep, a 45-year-old woman from Shawnee, Kansas, was injured and taken to the hospital, according to the trooper’s report.
The driver of the BMW, a 51-year-old man from Fairway, Kansas, was not injured, the report stated.
The Jeep, as it was stopped on the highway, also was in another accident.
I-635 near K-5
According to a trooper’s report, a GMC Safari was traveling northbound on I-635, came around the corner and struck the Jeep that was upside down and disabled.
The driver of the Safari, a 27-year-old man from Lenexa, Kansas, had a possible injury and was taken to the hospital, the report stated.
The driver of the Jeep was the same person involved in the first accident, and was taken to the hospital.
I-435 south of Leavenworth Road
At 7 a.m. March 11, a Ford van was southbound on I-435 just south of Leavenworth Road in Kansas City, Kansas, according to a trooper’s report. On the bridge over Leavenworth Road, the van lost control and rolled into the median, the trooper’s report stated.
The driver, a 51-year-old Kansas City, Missouri, man, was injured and taken to a hospital, the trooper’s report stated.
I-635, south of K-5
A Chevy Silverado was northbound on I-635 south of K-5 about 6:20 a.m. March 11 when the driver lost control on an icy road, left the roadway, went down into the ditch and rolled, according to the trooper’s report.
The driver, a 37-year-old man from Kansas City, Kansas, was injured and taken to a hospital, according to the trooper’s report.
A 36-year-old Kansas City, Kansas, woman passenger in the Silverado was not injured, the report stated.
