The former Woodlands racetrack property at 97th and Leavenworth Road is on the agenda for the 7 p.m. Thursday, April 28, Unified Government Commission meeting.
The project has changed since last year, with six warehouse type buildings now planned, and the retail business district on the west side has been eliminated, according to information from the City Planning Commission meeting.
The Woodlands redevelopment into a warehouse and distribution site went before the City Planning Commission April 12 and received approval, with a new condition of notifying neighbors. Some neighbors complained at that meeting about noise and not being notified in advance of the work.
Scannell Properties is proposing to change the Woodlands zoning from planned limited business and planned general industrial districts to planned general industrial district to remove light manufacturing restrictions from the previous approval.
At the 5 p.m. special session Thursday, the commission is scheduled to hear a presentation on a COVID-19 health ordinance followed by 2022-2026 capital maintenance improvement project.
