Former Best Buy building changes hands

The former Best Buy building, 10500 Parallel Parkway, at Plaza at the Speedway is now being handled by Block and Company Realtors. An investment group headed by Block has acquired the 46,538-square-foot building, which is located on 4.22 acres to the south of Sam’s Club, just north of Parallel Parkway. The building, which has been vacant several years, may be leased to one tenant or it may be divided, according to a Block spokesman. David M. Block led the investment group that initially developed Plaza at the Speedway, and also was involved with the recent transaction.

  1. 3 things that would be nice
    JoAnn’s fabric and craft store
    Hy-Vee
    Family buffet
Something for the whole community and not just a few.
We already have a fitness center and a kids fun club was part of the problem at Indian springs. Drew too many teens.

    1. The former Best Buy building would be a wonderful location for a Joann’s Fabric & Crafts business. We who sew/quilt have no fabric business here except for WalMart and it is the bare essentials. We also have a lot of people who do crafts and the same availability applies to that also. From the few times I have talked to the manager at Walmart I get the impression that she would just as soon not have that department anyway. Ask any person trying to buy fabric there and you will find they lose business daily in that department because there is nobody available to cut the fabric. So we end up having to go to Johnson County or Bonner Springs. Both of those places take away from the business that could stay in WyCo. There’s no doubt that it would be profitable here.
Thank you for listening; please court Joann’s to this area.
