Forecast: Cold today, snow possible Sunday

Temperatures will reach a high of 21 today in Wyandotte County, with a wind chill between minus 10 and zero and a north wind of 9 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

Light snow will be possible on Sunday and Sunday night into Monday, the weather service said. There is a 50 percent chance of snow after midnight Sunday night. Monday is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, a holiday throughout the area. From 1 to 2 inches of snow are possible.

Tonight, the low will be around 8 with a wind chill reading between minus 2 and 3, plus a north wind of 7 to 9 mph, according to the weather service.

Saturday, the high will be near 19 with mostly cloudy skies gradually becoming sunny, the weather service said. The wind chill reading will be minus 2 to 8, and a north wind will be 5 to 9 mph.

Saturday night, the low will be around 10 with increasing clouds, and a calm wind becoming south southeast 5 to 7 mph after midnight, according to the weather service.

Sunday, there will be a 40 percent chance of snow before noon, the weather service said. Cloudy skies will gradually become sunny and temperatures will rise to a high of 31. There will be a southwest wind of 8 to 13 mph.

Sunday night, there is a 50 percent chance of snow after midnight, according to the weather service. The low will be around 16.

On Monday, Martin Luther King Jr Day, there will be a high of 19 with mostly sunny skies, the weather service said.

Monday night, the low will be around minus 1 with mostly clear skies, according to the weather service.

Tuesday, it will be sunny and cold, with a high near 14, the weather service said.
